Las cartas de invitación a un evento en inglés es una forma de decirle a la gente que ellos también son una parte muy importante en algún tipo de evento como puede ser un proyecto, un negocio, un evento o una reunión familiar.

Esta clase de carta puede enviarse tanto por correo electrónico como por correo postal. En algunos temas, las invitaciones  de un evento en inglés que son escritas a mano o impresas funcionarán mucho mejor que un correo electrónico.

  • ¿Cuál es la estructura de una carta de invitación de un evento en inglés?

    La estructura de una carta de invitación de un evento en inglés es la siguiente:

    1. Subject line / for emails / Línea de asunto / para correos electrónicos

    You must clearly represent the essence of your letter. The subject is the title you want to give to the letter for example: "Invitation for an annual hospitality tour in Turkey".

    2. Letterhead / Encabezado.

    If you're writing a formal invitation, use company letterhead. It is not required, but it will represent the authority of the organization in a more professional manner.

    3. Greeting / Saludos.

    Begin your letter with a greeting. If you don't know the recipient's name, you can write: Dear Madam / Sir. If you know the person's name, write the first and last name: Dear Laura Ashley. End the salutation with a comma and omit a line.

    In the first paragraph, clearly state the purpose of the event. But first, you need to show your respect and happiness for inviting the person to the event. Then you should mention where the event will take place and the time.

    This information should be at the beginning, since it will be useful for the reader to find the necessary information without reading the letter once again.

    In the second paragraph you can identify yourself as a constituent. Describe the purpose of the event and why you think the reader should attend. Also, you can attach more details about the event. If the event will have a program, it is advisable to include it in the letter.

    You can also mention the special guests or activities that were prepared for the event. Provide additional instructions, as some events require special actions for each guest. For example:

    • Complete the registration form
    • Obtain the copy of the invitation to the event
    • Bring certain items or documents
    • Dress code
    • Return gift

    If the event may involve giving a gift and you don't wish to receive any, just mention "No gifts please." For other cases, don't mention anything at all.

    Las cartas de invitación son fundamentales cuando deseas lograr los objetivos de tu evento. Al escribir tales cartas, incluye toda la información que es esencial como el lugar, la hora, la fecha, y el propósito del evento.

    3. Descubre la información necesaria / Discover the necessary information.

    Make sure you have all the information about the event. Keep in mind the main points that you should highlight in the letter. Are there any special instructions for the visitor? Do you need a response to your letter? How many guests do you plan to have? Do you need to request a certain dress code?

    4. Define el tono de la carta / Define the tone of the letter.

    If you are writing to a friend, write the text in an informal tone. If you are writing as a representative of an organization or at the embassy, you should keep a formal tone.
