3 Mejores Ejercicios del Segundo Condicional en Inglés

Esta entrada se trata de ejercicios del segundo condicional en inglés que es una de esas cosas que hemos estudiado una y otra vez en el colegio… pero aún así, siempre se nos olvida.

Segunda condicional en inglés: Explicación

Como ya sabes, las condicionales en inglés son el recurso que usamos para hablar de cosas que dependen de otras. Existen cuatro tipos diferentes, en función de los diferentes grados de probabilidad del suceso que estamos comentando.

Un truco rápido: por lo general, cuanto más improbable es que suceda algo, más complicada es la gramática. Necesitas tener esto muy claro antes de pasar a los ejercicios del segundo condicional en inglés.

El segundo condicional en inglés es la forma que usamos para hablar de…

• Situaciones hipotéticas o irreales. I barely make ends meet nowadays but if I had a lot of money, I would buy a 20-room mansion and invite all my friends to live with me.
• Dar consejos a otras personas. If I were you, I would call Sally and explain what happened. It’s all just a silly misunderstanding!

En cuanto a la estructura, solo tienes que recordar estas normas:

• La oración con if va en pasado simple: If I worked as a doctor.
• Si la oración con if contiene el verbo to be, generalmente se usa were en lugar de was: If I were rich.
• En la oración de resultado, usamos el verbo would (o wouldn’t para la forma negativa) + el infinitivo: I would travel around the world.
• En algunos casos, también podemos usar could o might.
• Y para hacer preguntas, usamos would + sujeto + infinitivo + complementos + oración con if: Would you marry me if I asked you?

3. Une las siguientes oraciones formando condicionales

En el tercero de los ejercicios del segundo condicional en inglés tienes dos oraciones separadas por un punto, usando la forma condicional une ambas para hacer una sola.

1 I were at home. I would have a rest.

2 It was sunny. We could go to the beach.

3 I were you. I would buy that house.

4 You knew the reasons. You might not say that.

4 Ejercicio con el primer y segundo condicional en inglés

→Primer condicional: la condición se escribe en presente simple mientras que el resultado en futuro simple.

→ Segundo condicional: la condición se escribe en pasado simple mientras que el resultado se escribe con el auxiliar would + infinitivo.
