A los niños de 6 a 8 años hay que saber como entrarles en el aprendizaje de otro idioma, los cuentos cortos en Inglés para la practica son una excelente herramienta de aprendizaje, la misma les entusiasma dado que todo lo que sea nuevo y curioso es bueno para ellos. Cuentos Cortos En Inglés Para La Practica Del Idioma.
A continuación te daremos una lista de cuentos cortos que puedes leerle a tus estudiantes o a tus hijos en cualquier momento, empezaremos ya pasado el 25 con una historia que los dejara marcados, la historia del cumpleaños del niño Jesús.
1.-The Birth Story of Jesus Christ / El nacimiento del Niño Jesús.
A los niños les encanta la Navidad, los regalos, los dulces, las luces, las vacaciones, las reuniones familiares. Pero, realmente ¿conocen el significado de la Navidad y por qué la celebramos el 25 de diciembre?
Enseña a tus hijos el verdadero espíritu de la Navidad y comparte con ellos esta historia del nacimiento de Jesús en inglés: The Birth of Jesus Christ. Una estupenda forma de seguir mejorando el inglés y conocer el milagro de la Natividad.
Long ago, in a place called Nazareth, lived a woman named Mary. She was a hardworking woman who was always good to others. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, who was also good at heart. One day, God sent an angel to Mary, by the name of Gabriel.
The angel told her that God was sending a holy spirit to Earth to help people that soul would be born as Mary's son, and she would name him Jesus. Mary was worried about how this was possible since she wasn't married, but the angel assured her that it would be a miracle from God. The angel also told her that her cousin, Elizabeth, who had no children, would also give birth to a baby called John, who would prepare the way for Jesus birth.
On hearing this, Mary consented to God's will. She went to meet Elizabeth and returned after three months. By then, she was pregnant. This worried Joseph, who wondered if he should call off the wedding. But one night, while he was asleep, an angel visited him and told him about God's will, and urged him to marry Mary. Joseph woke up the next morning and decided that he would make Mary his wife.
After the wedding, Joseph and Mary made a trip to Bethlehem, the place where Joseph's family came from. However, when they reached there, they could not find a place to stay as the village was crowded. So, they decided to stay in a barn where animals lived. It was there that Mary gave birth to the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
The birth of Jesus was signified by a bright star in the sky. Wise men from different parts of the world understood the significance of this star and followed it to reach Bethlehem. They brought along gifts for the baby and his parents. In other parts of Bethlehem, where shepherds were grazing their sheep, angels appeared to give them the good news. They sang and made merry to welcome the Holy Spirit to earth.
Since then, this day has been celebrated as Christmas.

Traducción al español de la historia del Niño Jesús para niños
Hace mucho tiempo, en un lugar llamado Nazaret, vivía una mujer llamada María. Ella era una mujer trabajadora que siempre fue buena con los demás. Estaba comprometida para casarse con un hombre llamado José, que también era bueno de corazón. Un día, Dios envió un ángel a María, llamado Gabriel.
El ángel le dijo que Dios estaba enviando un espíritu santo a la Tierra para ayudar a las personas; ese alma nacería como el hijo de María y ella lo llamaría Jesús. María estaba preocupada por cómo esto era posible ya que no estaba casada, pero el ángel le aseguró que sería un milagro de Dios. El ángel también le dijo que su prima Isabel, que no tenía hijos, también daría a luz a un bebé llamado Juan, quien prepararía el camino para el nacimiento de Jesús.
Al escuchar esto, María aceptó en la voluntad de Dios. Fue a encontrarse con Isabel y regresó después de tres meses. Para entonces, estaba embarazada. Esto preocupó a Joseph, quien se preguntó si debería cancelar la boda. Pero una noche, mientras dormía, un ángel lo visitó y le contó acerca de la voluntad de Dios y lo instó a que se casara con María. José se despertó a la mañana siguiente y decidió que haría de María su esposa.
Después de la boda, José y María hicieron un viaje a Belén, el lugar de donde provenía la familia de José. Sin embargo, cuando llegaron allí, no pudieron encontrar un lugar para quedarse ya que el pueblo estaba lleno de gente. Entonces, decidieron quedarse en un establo donde vivían animales. Fue allí donde María dio a luz al Hijo de Dios, Jesucristo.
El nacimiento de Jesús fue iluminado por una estrella brillante en el cielo. Sabios de diferentes partes del mundo entendieron el significado de esta estrella y la siguieron hasta llegar a Belén. Trajeron regalos para el bebé y sus padres. En otras partes de Belén, donde los pastores pastaban sus ovejas, aparecieron ángeles para darles las buenas nuevas. Cantaron y se regocijaron para recibir al Espíritu Santo en la tierra.
Desde entonces, este día se celebra como Navidad.

2.-The Bag of Lice In English.
Cuento en inglés para niños: The Bag of Lice. Cuenta la historia de un rey que hizo una bolsa con un piojo enorme. El afortunado en desposarse con su hija sería aquel que adivinara de qué estaba hecha su bolsa
One day the queen was combing the princess’ hair and she found a louse. -Look father- said the princess,- the louse that mum has found in my hair. -Don’t kill him!- exclaimed theking,- let’s put it in a flash. I’m curious about how big can grow a louse fed of royal blood.
The king put the louse into a flask and from time to time he allowed him to feed of the princess’ royal blood leaving it on the girl’s head for some hours.
The louse grow so much that the king had to put it in a barrel. The princess kept on feeding it, and the louse kept on growing until the king had to put it out of the barrel and put it in a bigger cask. Eventually, when it did not fit in the cask, he had to kill it. The king had the louse’s skin tanned and ordered the royal tailor to make a leather bag.
When the bag was finished, the king made the same question to everybody. -Guess from which animal is the leather of my bag?
Some said that from beef, others from deer but nobody could hit on it. At last, the monarch made proclaim in all his kingdom that the one who guessed from which animal came the leather of his bag would marry the princess. People came from many parts to see the bag, but nobody could guess.
One day, a shepherd arrived to the town bringing his flock to sell it on the market. He decided to visit the town and started to walk. After walking for a long time, he arrived to the king’s palace. Tired, he sank back on the garden’s wall. He lit a cigarrette and as he was smoking he heard someone talking in the garden. It was the king talking with the queen saying her:
-I think that nobody is going to guess that my bag is made out of louse’s skin. As soon as he heard this the shepherd went away thinking “now I can marry the princess”.
The following day, the shepherd went to the palace and seeked an audience with the king. When he was in front of him he said: -Lord, I come to see if I guess the skin of which your bag is made.
-Guess- said the king. -Lord,-answered the shepherd- it is made out of louse skin. -You’ve guessed it!- cried the king. And he ordered that the wedding of the shepherd and the princess would be celebrated the soonest as possible.

Cuento del bolso de piojos del rey en español.
Había un rey que tenía una hija. Un día en que estaba la reina peinando a la princesa, le encontró un piojo en el cabello. - Mira padre, - dijo la princesa, - el piojo que me ha encontrado mamá en el cabello.
- ¡No lo mates! - exclamó el rey, - vamos a meterlo en un frasco. Tengo curiosidad de ver que tan grande puede crecer un piojo alimentado de sangre real. Metió el rey al piojo en un frasco, y de cuando en cuando lo dejaba alimentarse de la sangre real de la princesa, dejándolo en la cabeza de la niña algunas horas.
Creció el piojo tan grande que el rey tuvo que meter en una barrica. Siguió alimentándolo la princesa y el piojo siguió creciendo hasta que el rey se vio obligado a sacarlo de la barrica y a meterlo en un tonel.
Por fin cuando ya no cabía en el tonel, lo tuvo que matar. Mandó curtir la piel del piojo y ordenó al sastre real que le hiciera un saco del cuero. Cuando estuvo terminado el saco, el rey hacía la misma pregunta a toda la gente:
- Adivínenme de qué animal es la piel de mi saco. Unos decían que de res, otros de venado, pero nadie podía atinar. Por fín, hizo pregonar el monarca por todo su reino, que el que advinara de qué animal provenía la piel de su saco, se casaría con la princesa.
De muchas partes vinieron gentes a examinar el saco, pero nadie pudo acertar de qué animal era la piel del saco del rey. Un día llegó un pastor a la ciudad trayendo su rebaño para venderlo en el mercado. Decidió conocer la ciudad y se echó a caminar. Después de mucho andar llegó al palacio del rey.
Cansado se reclinó en la pared del jardín. Torció un cigarrillo y mientras fumaba, oyó que alguien hablaba en el jardín. Era el rey que platicaba con la reina, y le decía: - Yo creo que nadie va a adivinar que mi saco esta hecho de piel de piojo.
Tan pronto como oyó esto, el pastor se alejó, pensando, ahora si que me puedo casar con la princesa. Al día siguiente se fué el pastor al palacio y pidió audiencia para ver al rey. Cuando estuvo frente al monarca, le dijo:
- Señor vengo a ver si adivino de qué piel está hecho su saco. - Adivina, - dijo el rey. - Señor, - contestó el pastor, - esta hecho de piel de piojo. - ¡Lo has adivinado! - gritó el rey. Y mandó que se celebraran las bodas del pastor y de la princesa lo más pronto posible.

3.-The ghostly village/ In English.
The night was rainy; a big storm was falling on the sea. The waves were enormous and the fog was thick. The ships rocked one side to the other as marionettes. Suddenly, an awful creaking was heard in the darkness. A big cloud of smoke was seen in the distance and an intense odour could be noticed in the air. Everybody was wondering what had happened.
A ship had ran aground near the shore and had split part of the petrol it carried. A spreaded on the water, as a big black cloack which had the sea gone into mourning. The smell of petrol was each time stronger and mixed with the freshness of the breeze each sunset near the beach. Charles and Anne used to go watching the stars. When they felt that freedom that only those who have not betrayed their ideals feel. They were the children of a fisher and lived in a humble white house very near from the cliff.
The fishers had recently had problems to fish, fishing was not very good. Now, it would be worse, there would not be anything in many time. Fishers will not be seen carrying fish to the harbour. They could not be said goodbye as it was usual. Now they will have to go far, to be able to live.
The village became a village without people. A ghostly village. Just a few women and children remained there. Men and young people went to look for a job and came back once in a while to see their families. At nightfall, a few lights, brought the village back to existence.
But from the cliff the view was not the same, it seemed that even the breeze had changed of place. The air smell of petrol and the sea’s calm had turned to a terrible anguished seeing how all the sea life was being destroyed. Dead fishes floated and all was devastating. The few people who remained, started to rebuild and clean all that had been damaged.
Some years passed until the village returned to normal. Some of who had left returned and the boats returned to the harbour. Hope was born again with the fear that the story would repeat.

4.-The Enchanted Forest/ Cuento en Inglés.
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful forest, with a lot of trees and flowers of all the colours which gladden the sight to all the people who went there. Every afternoon, the animals of the forest meet there to play.
The rabbits had a race to see who was the first to arrive to the finishing line. The ants made a long line to go to their nest. The colourful birds and bright butterflies land among the bushes.
Everything was peace and tranquillity. Until that… One day, the animals heard noises, strange steps and they got very frightened because the land started to shake.
Suddenly, a very ugly and bad warlock appeared in the forest. He was lived in an abandoned house and was very solitary, that is why he did not have any family nor friends. He was old and crooked, his face was sad and anguished. He did not want anyone to be happy so when he heard the children’s laughter he got so angry that he cried very loud and went running to look for them.
Quickly he touched the tree with his wand and after a few minutes all its leaves fell and it lost its colour. He did the same with the flowers, the grass, the animals and the children. After doing this great and terrible evil deed, he went on laughing and repeating -Nobody will have life while I am alive!
Many years weny by since nobody treaded that dark and horrible place, until a dove arrived flying and singing cheerfully, but she was very astonished to see that forest that had been beautiful once, full of children, turned into an horrifying forest.
What happened here? All of them lost their colour and movement… It is so gloomy. As if it was nighr! I have to do something for this forest be what it was before with its colour, bright and life… Let’s see, what can I do?”
And after thinking for a while she said. -“I got it! The dove landed in the dried branch of a tree that, as if by magic, started to recover its natural colour and moving slowly.
Then she posed in the back of the rabbit and his soft ears started to stand up and little by little, his bright grey colour could be noticed. And that was how she got all the inhabitants of the forest back to life. The children played and laughed again. They, with the animals, thanked the dove because thanks to her they had gone back to life. The dove was very happy and she went singing.
And the wind came and took the warlock and the tale!

5.-The Princess and the Pea/ In English
Once there was a prince who was looking for a princess. But she must be a real princess. The prince went right round the world, and although he found several once upon a time the beautiful princesses, there was always something not quite right about them. In the end he came home, very disappointed.
One night, there was the most terrible storm. It thundered, it lightninged and the rain poured down in sheets. The king and queen and prince sat round the fire toasting crumpets.
Suddenly there was a ringing of the bell at the palace gates. Putting on his mackintosh, the king went to see who could be outside on such a dreadful night. When he opened the gates a princess was standing there. But what a sight she was! Water streamed off the ends of her long hair, ran down her clothes and into her shoes.
-"You´d better come in," said the king, leading the princess into the palace where she stood, dripping, and not looking at all like a princess. - "Yes, I am a princess," she assured them.
The old queen was doubtful. "We´ll soon see about that," she said to herself. And she went to prepare the spare bed for their young visitor.
First she took off all the bedding and then she laid a pea at the very bottom. On top of the pea she put twenty mattresses and on top of the mattresses she put twenty feather beds.
The next morning the princess was asked how she had slept. -"I hardly slept a wink all night," she said. "The bed was desperately uncomfortable. There was something hard at the bottom of it and I´m sure I am bruised all over."
Now they knew she was a real princess. For no one but a princess would be able to feel a pea throughtwenty mattresses and twenty feather beds! The prince was thrilled to bits for he had already fallen in love with her. And they decided to be married. As for the pea, well it was put into a museum where it may still be seen if no one has stolen it.

La princesa y el Guisante/ En español.
Érase una vez un príncipe que quería casarse con una princesa, pero tenía que ser una verdadera princesa. Viajó por todo el mundo buscando una, pero no pudo encontrar en ningún sitio lo que buscaba. Había muchas, pero era difícil saber si eran auténticas princesas. Había siempre algo en ellas que no era como debía ser. Así, volvió a casa de nuevo muy triste porque le hubiera gustado mucho haber encontrado la verdadera princesa de sangre real.
Una noche estalló una terrible tormenta con rayos y truenos. La lluvia caía torrencialmente. De repente se oyó como alguien golpeaba la puerta del castillo con fuerza. ¡Toc! ¡Toc!¡Toc!. El anciano rey fue a abrirla.
Era una princesa que estaba afuera, frente a la puerta. Pero, ¡Dios mio! ¡qué aspecto presentaba con la lluvia y el mal tiempo! El agua le goteaba del pelo y de las ropas, le corría por la punta de los zapatos y le salía por el tacón y, sin embargo, decía que era una princesa auténtica.
“Bueno, eso pronto lo sabremos”, pensó la anciana reina. Y sin decir palabra, fue a la alcoba, apartó toda la ropa de la cama y puso un guisante en el fondo. Después cogió veinte colchones y los puso sobre el guisante, y además colocó veinte edredones sobre los colchones. La princesa tuvo que dormir allí toda la noche. A la mañana siguiente le preguntaron cómo había dormido.
“¡Oh, terriblemente mal!” -dijo la princesa-. “Apenas si he pegado ojo en toda la noche. ¡Sabe Dios lo que habría en la cama! He dormido sobre algo tan duro que tengo todo el cuerpo lleno de magulladuras. ¡Ha sido horrible!”
Así supieron que era una princesa de verdad, porque había notado el guisante a través de veinte colchones y de veinte edredones. Sólo una auténtica princesa podía haber sido tan sensible.
El príncipe la tomó por esposa, porque ahora podía estar seguro de que se casaba con una princesa auténtica, y el guisante entró a formar parte de las joyas de la corona, donde todavía puede verse, si no lo ha robado nadie. Como puedes ver es un cuento real.
